Hat Sizing

Our hats are sized by head circumference. Measure once and you'll know your size in US letters and in Mexican tallas.

How to measure your head

Wrap a soft tape around your head just above your ears and eyebrows, where a hat naturally sits. Keep it snug but not tight. No tape? Use a strip of paper or string, mark where the ends meet, then measure that against a ruler.

Kids sizes

Kids' hats use their own letters, which run smaller than the adult sizes. Measure the child's head and use this chart, not the one above.

M 52 cm 6 1/2 52 2–4 yrs
L 54 cm 6 3/4 54 5–7 yrs

Frequently asked

What is a Mexican talla?

A Mexican talla is simply your head measurement in centimeters, so a 58 cm head is a talla 58.

What if I'm between two sizes?

Size up. The interior band takes up a little room, and a hat that's slightly loose is easier to live with than one that's too tight.

How do adjustable hats fit?

Some of our hats are one size with an adjustable fit. They fit most adult heads, and several adjust small enough for children too. Each hat's page tells you whether it's sized or adjustable.
